Anybody who has ever found themselves partaking in a never-ending David Attenborough animal doco marathon will appreciate the weirdness that can only be discovered in the depths of the ocean. The newest scientific find is less weird and more insanely adorable and might even be officially named as such.

A tiny type of flapjack octopus has been found in an icy region of the Pacific and it’s quite possibly the closest thing we can get to a real life Pokemon right now. The animal is yet to be named, but scientists are leaning towards the very apt Opisthoteuthis adorabilis. All will be revealed in an upcoming report by Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. In the meantime, educate yourself on this kawaii creature in the video above.
